I have a lot more safety in the wet because of the better grip and improved control
I bought my Triton to tow my motorbike trailer and all the gear that goes with racing bikes, and also to tow my boat for when we go on trips. My original Bridgestone tyres that came with the car new were really letting me down in the wet and didn’t give me a sense of security – when they wore out (they well and truly had it by 30,000kms; the front left was actually worn out by 25,000), I asked my local tyre dealer for advice on a replacement and he recommended Cooper Tires. He fitted a set of all-terrains as I mostly drive around Port Macquarie with lots of u-turns as well as up the highway to compete in sport, with occasional travel on gravel roads with the occasional trip into the bush or on the beach.
Compared to the original tyres, the Coopers are quieter, offer substantially more grip in the wet and will more than likely do double the km’s of the Bridgestone set. They have done 10,000km more (40,000km so far) without any real signs of degradation. On a side note, thanks to the increased grip from the Coopers I was able to have softer brake pads fitted, which has improved the Triton’s stopping ability.
I’ve been really impressed with my Cooper A/T3’s and I feel I have a lot more safety in the wet because of the better grip and improved control I have when I’m driving. In fact, I'm so happy that I’ve gone back to my dealer to get a set of Coopers for my wife's car!
